This policy explains what information Design My Golf Simulator (designmygolfsimulator.com) collects, why, and the choices you have.

Using the Cost Planner

You can use the Cost Planner without providing any personal information. As you work, your configuration is stored in your own browser (local storage) so it survives refreshes. It is not sent to us unless you save the project or request help. You can clear it with “Start a new project” or by clearing your browser’s site data.

Saved projects

When you save a project, we store the project configuration, its versions, the pricing and catalog versions used, your optional project name and ZIP code, and — if you provide it — your email address. We generate a private return link; we store only a hashed form of its secret token. Anyone with the link can open the project, so keep it private. We use your email to send the link and related transactional messages only. Saving a project does not subscribe you to marketing. You can archive or delete the saved copy from the planner, or email us to delete it.

Help requests

If you request help, we collect the details you submit (name, email, ZIP code, timing, the help you need, and optional phone, budget, and description), along with your project’s room type, dimensions, and planning range. We use them to respond to you. We share your request with an independent equipment specialist, room designer, installer, electrician, or contractor only if you check the referral box, and only for the purpose of helping with your request. We do not sell your personal information.

Email preferences

Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in with the separate checkbox. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time on the email preferences page.

Analytics

We measure site usage with privacy-focused tools: Cloudflare Web Analytics (which does not use cookies) and first-party event counts such as “planner opened” or “project saved.” Event records contain only the event name, page path, a short category label (for example, “garage”), and a timestamp. We never send names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, project descriptions, or project links to analytics.

We also use Google Analytics to see which pages and planner steps people use, so we can improve the site. It sets first-party cookies and receives your IP address, browser details, and the pages you view. Google signals and ad personalization are off, and we never send names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, project descriptions, or project links. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies.

Spam protection and security

Forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated abuse. To limit repeated submissions, we keep a salted hash of the submitting IP address for up to 24 hours; we do not store the IP address itself. Data is stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider.

Retention and your choices

We keep saved projects and help requests until you delete them or ask us to, or until we remove inactive records. You can ask to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law.

Children

This site is intended for adults planning home projects. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
